Job Title: Sales and Marketing Manager

Job Description

Main Purpose:

To develop and implement sales policies and business plans for national accounts to meet agreed sales targets and key business objectives.

Responsibilities:

Direct and control the company's sales staff to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and trained to meet all sales targets and that they carry out their responsibilities to the required standards.

Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and other relevant bodies to ensure that the company's maximum sales potential is realized.

Carry out or commission surveys of customer satisfaction to identify the scope for improvements in product quality and service delivery.

Respond to customer complaints and resolve any technical problems to ensure that company products are working effectively and the customer is satisfied with the service provided.

Develop and control the budget for the sales functions to ensure that all financial targets are met and that all necessary financial controls are in place to comply with company and regulatory requirements.

Monitor the sales performance of competitors to ensure that the company maintains and develops its competitive position.

Research and identify new business opportunities to ensure sustained growth.

Develop and implement sales strategies that enable the company to achieve its corporate objectives.

Develop and implement sales policies and business plans for national accounts to meet agreed sales targets and business objectives.

Monitor the progress towards the achievement of short-and-long-term sales and business objectives and take any necessary action to ensure that these are achieved.

Maintain effective internal communication to ensure that all relevant company functions are kept informed of sales objectives and developments, particularly in relation to national accounts.

Investigate any claims made against the company by the customer and negotiate an acceptable settlement where possible.

Develop and implement a customer service strategy which provides total customer satisfaction and meets corporate objectives.

Maintain an awareness of developments in sales techniques and technology to ensure that the company maintains and develops its competitive position.

Maintain good relations with customers to ensure that the company remains as the preferred supplier.

Monitor competitor activity in relation to national accounts and ensure that the appropriate responses are developed to any perceived threats to business.

Identify potential new accounts both domestic & export, and take any required action to win these.

Advise the company as part of the corporate management team on the development of the new initiatives and the promotion and marketing of products to ensure the achievement of the company's business plan and corporate objectives.

Develop and control the company budget for marketing promotions.

Maintain an awareness of developments in the fields of product marketing and research to ensure that the company continues to compete effectively.

Develop all necessary policies and procedures to ensure the effective promotion and marketing of the company.

Develop plans for the advertising and marketing of the company products to raise the company's market profile and increases sales.

Co-ordinate all marketing plans and activities with other managers/directors and staff in the company to ensure that the plans are delivered effectively.

Prepare and implement promotional and marketing plans for key accounts in consultation with other managers to meet business objectives.

Provide a source of expertise to managers and staff on carrying out market research.

Promote and represent the interests of the company at senior levels, including the central and local government, key customers, the voluntary sector and commercial and trade organizations.

Sales & Marketing Manager must be able and willing to travel extensively within the confines of the assigned territory, remaining away from home as necessary.

In addition, travel outside the assigned territory as and when necessary and instructed.
