Main Purpose: |
To plan, direct and control the shift operations. To schedule the productions and prepare the department budgets.
The incumbent will further support the Engineering Dept on the day to day operation and problem solving. |
Responsibilities: |
Plan, direct and control the production operations and resources involved to ensure optimal production in accordance with the specified production budgets and quality standards.
Production schedules: plan and implement production schedules to ensure that the production plans and target are achieved. Recognize and resolve problems affecting production including staff, quality, and order of production lines to avoid delays in the production process. In addition ensure that production is in line with distribution plans and schedules.
Departmental budget: prepare, monitor and control the annual departmental budget to ensure expenditure is in line with the production plan and target. This also involves managing daily purchases and inventory for the forecasted production requirement.
New projects: assist the plant manager to plan and execute new projects to achieve long term business objectives.
Maintenance: manage the maintenance activities of all the machines in co-ordination with the maintenance department so as to achieve high productivity levels across the plant.
Quality: responsible for quality and stock count at all the stages. So as to enable the company's standards and needed quality objectives are met and exceeded in line with quality standards set by the QC department.
Handling and selection of workforce for day to day functioning.

Requirements |
Skills: |
Manage the optimization of manufacturing processes in conjunction with adjacent
logistical company processes in order to maximize operational efficiencies.
Ensure optimum productivity
Effectively manage/ supervise a team of engineers and production staff.
Effectively manage day-day operations.
Ensure Machine / Equipment / Production Line downtime is maintained at a minimum.
Measure the cost and service effectiveness against predetermined benchmarks.
